Parking garage at the hospital

The City’s plans to build parking garages are a response to the current lack of parking spaces in the selected locations as well as being guided by the City’s vision of prioritizing eco-friendly forms of transport within Ostrava urban core.

The aim of the city is to develop Park + Ride (P+R) and Park + Go (P+G) services in the central part of the Ostrava metropolitan area in the form of paid parking. Therefore, the city has prepared PARKING GARAGES PROJECTS for which it is looking for developers.

We offer a stable business environment – the City of Ostrava will not support free parking provision in the vicinity. We require developers to respect the already prepared architectural solution and project parameters.

WHY WE WANT IT

A lack of parking spaces in the vicinity (the city centre and the surrounding area):

    • currently: deficit of 2 000 parking spaces
    • within 10 years: forecast ↑ deficit up to 3 000 parking spaces
  • ↑ demand for parking – reasons:

    • the central municipal district has around 39 000 inhabitants
      • residential zones: parking mainly for residents
      • non-resident parking: demand is much higher than supply
    • the area is home to numerous major companies, institutions, government authorities, and civic amenities
    • current parking areas will become the sites of new buildings
    • vacant spaces will be filled with new buildings of new functions
    • new projects of national/international importance have been prepared/ built within the city centre (a new concert hall, a new modern art gallery)
